Effective June 1, 2017, a new civil nature of suit (NOS) code 835, Patent - Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA), will be used for patent cases involving companies seeking to market generic drugs by submitting the ANDA under the provisions of the Drug Price Competition and Patent Term Act, also know as the Hatch-Waxman Act.　

The NOS code 835, Patent - Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) will be available in CM/ECF and updated on the Civil Cover Sheet (Form J-44) on June 1, 2017.
