UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT

Eastern District of Texas

Honorable Amos L. Mazzant, III, Chief Judge
David A. O'Toole, Clerk of Court

NextGen ECF is now LIVE for the Eastern District of Texas.

E-filing Access for EDTX

Non-prisoner pro se litigants and attorneys who have been approved by the Eastern District of Texas (EDTX) for e-filing must use their “upgraded” and individual PACER account. Those approved for e-filing are unable to use a “legacy” PACER account (one created before August 2014 that has not been “upgraded” yet) or a shared PACER account. Attorneys who were issued EDTX ECF accounts before May 16, 2022, when the district went live on NextGen ECF, must take steps to link their existing EDTX ECF account to their PACER account.

If you were issued an EDTX ECF account before May 16, 2022, please click the applicable link(s) below to see more information:

Upgrading Your Existing PACER Account (applies only to PACER accounts issued before August 2014 that have not already been upgraded)

If you have an individual PACER account that was created prior to August 11, 2014 (also known as a Legacy account), you must upgrade it before you can electronically file in a NextGen court. Click here to view instructions on how to Upgrade your Existing PACER Account.

Linking Your Existing PACER Account to Your Existing EDTX ECF Account

Prior to filing, you must link your upgraded PACER account to your ECF filing account. After linking your ECF filing account to your PACER account, you will then use your PACER account to file documents. This is commonly referred to as your Central Sign-On account. Click here to view instructions on how to link your TXED ECF Account to your PACER Account.

If you are newly seeking e-filing privileges in the EDTX please click here.

If you do not know your EDTX ECF login credentials, email the court at ECF_Registration@txed.uscourts.gov. Please include your contact information (including a daytime telephone number) so we may assist you. (Note: If you already have an EDTX ECF account, please do not submit a new ECF Registration Request since the clerk must reject it.)

If you do not know your PACER login credentials, you may try to reset them using the Forgot password? or Forgot username? links on this page. If you are unsuccessful, please contact the PACER Service Center at (800) 676-6856.
